Chapter 11

Meet Stephanie

“Morning … good morning.” I smiled. “And hello to you,” I spoke as I passed the junior accountants on our floor, trying to hurry to my office. I was running behind, because my housekeeper/cook/nanny, decided to not get up on time this morning, therefore giving me the added responsibility of making breakfast. Instead of doing my morning regiments to be radiant, I was scrambling eggs for my little ones and I was pissed that my look was thrown together.

“Good morning Mrs. Morrison” another associate said.

“Morning,” I continued to greet as I finally approached my office door. My assistant popped up from her seat and rushed in behind me, with my Cranberry juice and bran muffin. I had never become a coffee drinker, never quite acquired a taste for it and Lord forbid if I had to be one of those Divas who couldn’t get going unless I had a cup of caffeine in my system. I was fine with OJ, or Apple, or Cranberry in the A.M. and to add, those beverages didn’t stain teeth.

“Your tablet has been updated with today’s schedule and the only thing that has changed is your one o’clock, with Mr. Burns. His daughter has a recital and he has to be gone by two, so your meeting with him is now at noon.”

“Thanks Ryan.” I nodded.

She placed my muffin and juice on the coffee table along with my tablet, because that is where I’d end up after checking and replying to the companies emails. I was known as the numbers lady, the problem solver and anytime any one had an issue with numbers it was sent to me. Projects that a couple associates together couldn’t figure out, I’d crunch it out in a matter of minutes. I was definitely a benefit to my company and I was proud of myself.

I graduated top of my class, married the sexiest man on the planet and had two of the most beautiful little girls in the world. I lived in Foxhill Village, not only luxurious, but the schools were top notch. Most of the time, I was in my Benz E350 Coupe, but I had two other very exquisite choices of cars to choose from. Even though I wasn’t runway model sized, my size ten frame only complimented my already gorgeous features. Naturally beautiful from head to toe, my natural curly locks were now hanging a little past my shoulders and I looked good in everything.

Not conceited, but a bit overly confident. My girls envied me and I knew it, especially Delilah. As I said before, I pay attention to everything and I can see the looks and snarls she makes at me out the corner of my eye when were out together, or at our girls night out. If I had on something new or if I was sporting a new bag or rocking a pair of fly ass shoes, she’d be the last to compliment me, even though I’d compliment her all the time.
